·  Sides will be provided at the theatre for a cold read from the script.

January 12     7:30pm - 9pm

January 13     1pm - 3pm

January 14     3pm  (Callbacks)



Character Descriptions

Kate  30+ 

A museum curator. Kate is young, ambitious, and bright. She has a string of failed relationships and relives some of these failures through flashbacks. Lots of emotional range and some comic timing. 


Louisa  50+ 

Kate's mother, Louisa, is a free spirit with a history in the theatre business. She believes in love regardless of age. Plays herself from ages 18-80. 


Man  30+ 

Plays 8 different roles as different men in numerous doomed relationships. He also serves as a sort of narrator in James, the archivist. Lots of range, both comedic and dramatic.  


Performances run April 26, 2024 - May 12, 2024

Parking is available nearby at Municipal Lot 18 (located on Kitchener St.)

Nick Galeazzo  Late 30s to early 40s

A man on the run from the mob.


Angela Miller  Early to mid-30s

An FBI agent charged with keeping Nick safe.


Freda Heitz  40s to early 50s

A male FBI agent posing as a woman, the innkeeper of The Last Resort.


Sid Barzini  Mid to late-40s

A carpet salesman.


Liz Barzini  Mid to late-40s

Sid’s wife. They are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary. 


Trent Balfour  Late 30s to early 40s

A poet hoping to find solitude to end his writer’s block.


Julia/Jessica Youngstead  Late 20s to early 30s

Julia is the good twin, Jessica is not so good. They are on their way to the reading of their father’s multi- million dollar will.


Inspector Closely  40s to 50s

An ineffectual officer of the RCMP.

• Portrays himself and assumes the role of young Kipps

Man In Chair | M | Age: 30-50 | Non-singing

Musical theatre aficionado who mourns the end of the Golden Era.

He narrates the show as he listens to the record on vinyl.


Janet Van De Graaf | F | Age: 25-30 | Alto with big belt (G3-

E5)

The famous bride. Glamorous and talented star of Feldzieg's Follies; 1920’s starlet; dance skills.


The Drowsy Chaperone | F | Age: 44-55 | Alto with strong belt (F3-D5)

Janet's alcoholic confidante and friend; melodramatic diva who gladly steals every scene she’s in.


Robert Martin | M | Age: 30-35 | Tenor (C3-Ab4)

The dashing, ever-cheerful groom; 1920’s leading man and matinee idol.

Must be able to (or learn to) tap dance and roller skate.


Aldolpho | M | Age: 35-45 | Bass/Baritone + falsetto (A#2-G4)

European self-proclaimed "ladies man"; very confident, but a buffoon; fake Spanish/Italian accent and comic timing.


Mrs. Tottendale | F | Age: 50-60 | Alto character voice (G3-Db5)

The flighty, eccentric, funny, but quite forgetful host of the wedding.


Underling | M | Age: 50-60 | Tenor character voice (Ab2-G4)

Mrs. Tottendale's butler who is stiff, yet has an understated sense of humor.

 

Feldzieg | M | Age: 40-50 | Baritone (Db3-Db4)

Harried and overbearing Broadway producer who is desperate for his star to return to his show.

 

Kitty | F | Age: 30-35 | Soprano (comic) (Bb3-F5)

Feldzieg's dim-witted companion and chorus girl who has hopes of being a star.


George | M | Age: 30-40 | Tenor (F3-Bb4)

Robert's anxious, dim-witted best man who has Robert's best-interest always at heart. Must be able to (or learn to) tap dance.


Gangsters | M | Age: 30-45 | Tenor (Db3-Gb4)

Posing as pastry chefs, this duo is intending to collect from Feldzieg; good comic timing and some dance.


Trix | F | Age: 30-40 | Alto (Ab3-Eb5)

The brave and brash female aviator who, by chance, is recruited to perform the wedding.
